There is nothing quite like waking up on vacation and being greeted by sweeping views. Well, you get just that when you stay at Sheepscot Harbour Village Resort. Our waterfront resort, found on the shores of the Sheepscot River, is the ideal destination for anyone looking to escape the busyness of life for a little bit. While there’s no shortage of picturesque scenery right at the resort, there’s another option for anyone looking to enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty: the botanical garden in Midcoast Maine.
THE DOS AND DON’TS OF VISITING THE GARDEN
The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is one of the most stunning attractions near Boothbay Harbor. The more than 300-acre space provides visitors with an experience like no other. To help you get the most out of your day there, we’ve put together a list of helpful dos and don’ts.
DO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS EARLY
Because of its popularity, we recommend purchasing your tickets to visit the gardens as soon as you know when you’ll be visiting. Prices vary depending on your age, and there are ways to save on your admission.
DON’T BRING THE PUP ALONG
While we offer pet-friendly rentals, dogs are not allowed at this Midcoast Maine attraction, except for service animals. This means you either need to plan your visit for a different time when you leave your pup at home or crate them in your vacation rental. Per our pet policy, pets can only be left alone in your room if they are in a crate or kennel and not for an extended period of time.
DO TAKE YOUR TIME
Given its size, it should be no surprise there are countless unique gardens and natural spaces to discover. This includes things like the Butterfly House, Arbor Garden, and Fairy House Garden. With so many spots to explore, it’s not a bad idea to give yourself most of the day here so you don’t miss out on anything.
DON’T DISTURB THE PLANTS
To help keep things beautiful, visitors should only walk on paths or lawns and not climb on the sculptures. You should also leave all flora and wildlife alone. If you’re looking to bring a piece of the garden home with you, make sure your phone is charged or bring a camera to capture the colorful Maine nature.
